These folk were there for a "jolly old event thingy with some of that rhythm music stuff, what ?" Complaints half way through first half about "Nice but Dims" and "Alicias" making too much noise at bar.
A pretend Louisiana "Wild Boy" in leathers and speeding came in and sat next to me, totally out of it, too noisy, stupid and dangerous, changed the mood of the bad in a nanosec.
When the Cynthias and Fionas started dancing stupidly in front of the stage I decided to be tired and leave. Took a pee before I left with two locals saying "Bloody good music eh Charlie ? Which one was singing? Got a bit bored with the slow numbers , good laugh tho".
Eric sat throughout and played an old Levin acoustic and for solo numbers, a small British made acoustic.
Backed totally by a Scando band : Cool pained guy played two (new ) Weisenborns, (lap style) and two old nationals. Slide style, good, simple, effective, drowned out a lot.
String bass, very good subtle drummer, A good pianist who doubled on very moody accordian (type thing) and a chap with a Greekname playing mandolin, doubling on a Strat.
Considering the setting and audience, the band worked very well together, enjoyed stuff, and played some "good Stuff" until audience made it clear that they wanted up beat jumping up and down music.
I preferred it when Mr Bibb played/sang solo or with the slide man.
