Void did a one and a quarter hour support slot. Their usual mix of covers and a few originals. Lucy found her voice after losing it somewhere between Calverts back bar on Friday night and this Bank Holiday gig.
The final set from Freefall was beset with problems. On the second number in their sound system tipped over the Crown's tripswitch which cuts off the power if the noise gets above a preset level. The switch was blown a further three times. My patience ran out through that old America standard Horse With No Name when the tripswitch cut off the band again.
I left Vic King to it who reckons the switch blew again before the band threw up their hands and called it a night. Pity Chiz and Russ of the Jones had left early. They might have blagged a couple of guitars and snuck in an acoustic set.
