Sunday 12th April, Cowes

Hope at the Anchor

The Anchor was buzzing. Unfortunately Bill Reid couldn't make it, but the gig was good. Tabbo with their two lovely ladies singing out front and Danny Taylor keeping the beat on the skins made the evening one not to forget.

Although Taboo are a covers band they do cover what they do really well and versions of Canned Heat/ Bryan Ferry's Lets Get Together and The Pink Floyds Comfortably Numb stand out really well.

With loads of audience participation for what was a charity gig in memory of the late Sean Landy the people of Cowes showed their appreciation.

Richie and the Blue Veins put together by Red Funnel Rich Wilkinson played and yours truly and Mark Spencer joined in. Rich was the man behind the gig and he deserves a big pat on the back.

Once again Steve Brooks and I were left questionning the validity of that age old quote "Nothing Ever Happens On the Isle of Wight".
