Vic King has this aversion to tribute bands ("Why don't they get up and do their own stuff" aimed at ReGenesis, Muffin Men, Nowaysis et al), so do I but I decided to go. Like it or not I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Pulse are Dave Khan gtr, ex Legend. Dave Ouston, keyboards and vocals,ex Taboo, Alan Todd, bass, Steve Jacobs vcls and gtr, and Dean Powell drums, ex Legend. The sound was mixed by Colin who helped to set the gear up at The Jim Bearwish gig.
Their set started at 9pm and finished at 11.10pm. The strange thing was that the audience stood and watched the band the whole time. It would be easy to get carried away by this band but I must admit that they were good in terms of copy and ability. The bass player for instance had a six string one and played it note for note (what the bass or the tune? Ed.)
The Set list included: Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Sorrow, Comfortably Numb, Learning to Fly, The Dark Side of The Moon.
The cries from the audience for Baby Lemonade, and A Saucerful of Secrets were welcomed. Well I tried didn't I.
