Raising funds for Todd Venables

Isle of Wight Rock received a request from our friend and fellow Islander Melanie Cossar who lives in Nogger Up, Western Australia. Melanie is trying to raise funds to bring her nephew from the Island to Australia before his illness deteriorates to the point where he cannot fly.

Melanie writes:

I'm trying to raise funds for my nephew Todd Venables who lives on the IOW. Todd suffers from Muscular Dystrophy, he is 13yrs old and in a wheelchair.

We want to try and get him out here again, hopefully at xmas. Time is of the essence as Todd has to be passed by a doctor to be able to fly and I'm afraid Todd's condition is quite a rapid deteriation so the sooner we get him here for a another holiday the better.

I've sent a letter to the County Press to let them what we're up to and if they could possibly do a wee bit on Todd too.

We have organized a gig here at Noggerup with some of the best artists in the SW. A few of the husbands are doing a 'Spice girls' show and we've got a few kids that are going to get up and sing. A friend of ours is going to do a sponsered parachute jump and a friend on the Island is doing a sponsored horse ride.

The money is coming in good and fast already and we only started a couple of weeks ago, it's very exciting.

Any help would be really appreciated.
