Nick Potts to join Tribal Trance

A duo from Australia came to busk during Cowes Week and went down a storm. Island violinist Nick Potts jammed with them and immediately formed a musical bond adding his inspired fiddle on top of their percussion and digeridoo dance rhythms. The duo, Roger Bradshaw and his partner Rennai has asked Nick to join them on the road. Tribal Trance have CDs with them on the road. If you get a chance buy one.

Nick sounded like a cat with the cream when I spoke to him this week:

"Roger and Rennai are called Tribal Trance, they were pulling the crowds during Cowes Week. Basically they go from one 'Cowes' week to another just busking. They've asked me to join them. They are going to the Weighbridge Festival in Cornwall, then a gig in Truro followed by the Edinburgh festival. I'm thinking of going back to Australia with them. I could be in Australia for Christmas."

So anywhere on the road between Cornwall, Edinburgh and Australia keep an ear out for Tribal Trance. Nick tells me that Renni does vocals, scat rather than words and Nick hopes to add some of his own songs into the multi cultural mix. Renni is half Dutch, half British, Roger is half Australian, half British and, well, Nick Potts comes from the Isle of Wight with more than Guinness full of Irish soul in his violin playing.

Nick reckons to keep in touch with Roland Jones when he goes. He promises to send home occasional reports from the road and we'll keep ya all posted as he does. Enjoy the craic Nick.
